Since 1945, Intoximeters has been manufacturing breath-testing instruments to assist in DUI enforcement. Through the years, we have led advancements in breath alcohol testing to provide the most accurate breath testing instruments available for law enforcement applications, including breath alcohol screening devices, handheld, portable, and desktop evidential instruments.

Many of our instruments have been designed specifically with officer safety and roadside applications in mind. Patented rear-facing displays offer a safe testing method, in which an officer can monitor the surrounding environment and stay at a safe distance from the subject during the breath collection process. Handheld screeners are available for preliminary testing during screening or checkpoints. Portable instruments are capable of evidential testing during roadside applications. Desktop instruments are used at the station, and are also manufactured by Intoximeters.

Alcohol Screeners

All listed units are handheld NHTSA approved evidential instruments. With more than 200,000 Alco-Sensors in the field today, the Alco-Sensor line of handheld breath testers is the standard by which all other handheld breath alcohol devices are compared.

Portable Evidential

All listed units are handheld NHTSA approved evidential instruments. All are fuel cell based sensors that are designed to perform repeat testing on the batteries included with the system.

Transportable Evidential

This class of Intoximeters instrument requires an external power source.  They are NHTSA approved evidential instruments that can be used in a stationary environment or easily transported into the field, set up and run in more extreme environments.  For programs that have stationary and portable testing needs, users of our EC/IR product line can use both our desktop instrument and our transportable and only have to support one software package and one training course.

Stationary Evidential

This line of Intoximeters instrument are NHTSA approved evidential breath alcohol analyzers designed to be used in station. Their stationary setup allows the instrument to be interfaced to a central host computer via modem or ethernet or a private network. This allows a central location to monitor the instrument remotely and upload test data to a central location.
