Testing integrity is dependent upon using the proper mouthpiece with your Breathalyzer.

Mouthpieces used for Intoximeters Alco-Sensor and benchtop line of products are an important part of the instrument’s sampling system.

Using quality, clean mouthpieces is important for providing a hygienic means to capture a breath sample for analysis. Using the proper mouthpiece to protect the user and ensure your instrument will provide accurate and precise BrAC readings, is critical.

Intoximeters offers individually wrapped disposable mouthpieces for direct sampling and reusable mouthpieces for passive sampling.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there volume discounts if I want to buy mouthpieces in bulk?
Yes. Volume discounts are available. Most mouthpiece types are sold between $0.32 and $0.23 each; depending upon volumes. Exact prices are stated on the product sales page for each mouthpiece type.

Do mouthpieces affect breathalyzer accuracy?
Yes. The instruments are calibrated to measure flow and volume which is determined from backpressure over time. If the mouthpiece design is not consistent with Intoximeters approved and tested mouthpiece design, the backpressure encountered can lead to errant volume and flow determinations, which can cause the instrument to sample at an inappropriate time, which in turn could result in an errant result.

Calibration

Intoximeters offers a variety of breath tester calibration systems.

In this section of our on-line store, we offer NHTSA approved dry gas cylinders for checking and calibrating both screening and evidential grade instrumentation. We also offer all of the necessary calibration device accessories.

Calibration Dry Gas

Intoximeters recommends that for all evidential grade breath alcohol analyzers, external accuracy checks and calibrations be performed using a NIST traceable dry gas or wet bath standard approved for use by both NHTSA and Intoximeters. We are now offering all standard and custom NIST traceable gas concentrations in three NHTSA and Intoximeters approved volumes; 108 liter tanks, 55 liter tanks, and 34 liter tanks. Standard values are (.100)C, (.082)C, and (.038)C and can be purchased online. If you need a dry gas standard that is not listed, please click here.

Calibration Accessories

Some Intoximeters’ instruments require special tools to perform calibrations. These tools are usually supplied with the instruments, but if lost can be ordered here. Other calibration accessories, like our True Cal line of products, are optional devices that can help take the guess work out of dry gas accuracy checks and calibrations. Intoximeters provides all your test result printing needs. We offer various printer styles with all the printer paper, ribbons and cartridges to match. In addition to plain paper we offer common DOT and Non-DOT forms.
