All classes are listed in Central Time.  If you would like to request a different start time than what is listed on this page, please include a note with your request when checking out and we will do our best to accommodate.
This is a fully online 2-day course.  The course is appropriate for both DOT initial Collector training and DOT Refresher Collector training and includes Train-the-Trainer training.  This course includes approximately 4-6 hours of online self-study prior to 2 days of interactive webcam instruction with an Intoximeters Trainer. Students successfully completing the course requirements will receive an electronic certificate as a DOT Urine Drug Screen Collector and UDS Instructor.

The course includes:

Self-study DOT Urine Collector Procedures – Part 40 Rules and Regulations (online)

Day 1

UDS Collector course (5 consecutive error-free mock collections)

Day 2

Advanced Collector and Collector Trainer procedures related to DOT UDS collections
Common collector errors and problem-solving techniques
Trainer resources, training aids, and electronic files will be provided and discussed
Train-the-Trainer exercises and mock presentations of collector modules

To participate in online Specimen Collector training, you will need the following materials:

A computer with a high-speed internet connection and an external adjustable webcam
9 Federal Custody & Control Forms (CCFs)
7 DOT compliant split specimen collection kits
A pitcher of warm water to simulate urine samples during the mock tests
Another person (subject) to act as a donor (DOT requires that the mock tests be performed on a live subject)

What is the process? Once the student’s class registration has been processed and payment has been received, they will be assigned their required online learning modules which must be completed prior to the start of their class date.  On their first day of class, the student will complete their 5 consecutive error-free collection mocks with their trainer.  If the student is able to successfully complete day 1, they will continue to day 2 and participate in our train the trainer class session.
