This newly updated kit walks a qualified instructor* step-by-step through the process of training a Breath Alcohol Technician.The instructor is provided with online study modules to re-familiarize themselves with the DOT requirements and procedures as well as the Alco-Sensor IV / RBT IV breath testing device. The user is able to purchase additional online modules at a discounted price for their BAT students to use. These online modules cover the DOT rules & regulations for breath alcohol testing and an overview of the RBT IV instrument. The instructor will then monitor the student(s) performing the required 7 error-free mock tests and issue a certificate stating that the student has met all the training requirements of 49 CFR Part 40.
Electronic resources are included on a USB flash drive that the instructor can use over and over for future trainings.
* The Intoximeters “Train Your Own” program is intended for qualified instructors and does not certify individuals as instructors. Reference 49 CFR Part 40.213 for the definition of a qualified instructor: “The instructor must be an individual who has demonstrated necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities by regularly conducting DOT alcohol tests as an STT or BAT, as applicable, for a period of at least a year, who has conducted STT or BAT training, as applicable, under this part for a year, or who has successfully completed a train the trainer course.”
