1) License expired.
   You must license the software. Your CD Key is typically found inside the the front cover of the CD jacket that you received with the software media in. Follow the accompanying instructions on how to license the product.

2) Maintenance Required?
   This is a feature that is reminding you to perform periodic archiving of the databases. The schedule for the frequency of this message can be set in the Configure section of the software.

3) How to add Employers to List.
   "In the latest version of software, on the main page there is a Database option, select this option and then select the Employers button. In prior versions this same Employers button can be accessed through the Configure portion of the software, under the Settings tab. Complete instructions for the entire setup are in your manual."

4) How to add BATs to List.
   "In the latest version of software from the main page there is a Database option, select this option and then select the BATs button. In prior versions this same BATs button can be accessed through the Configure portion of the software, under the Settings tab. Complete instructions for the entire setup are in your manual."

5) ASIV not being recognized by software.
   "The instrument is not properly connected to the computer or to the cable. Or the hardware port has not been setup properly. To check this, go into Configure, select the hardware tab and check the ASIV port until you get validation of communication."

6) Firmware mismatch.
   "The software must be configured for the Alco Sensor IV that you are using. If the proper instrument is not selected in the Configure portion of the site (Instrument tab), you will receive this message."

7) How do I get an upgrade?
   From time to time Intoximeters will offer upgrades to the software. A step by step instruction should accompany the software uprade. Call Intox to inquire about what the latest release is and what may be coming in the near future. Customer Service can inform you about the cost for such upgrades.

8) If my computer does not have a 9 pin serial port how can I connect my AS-IV to my computer and have it work with Intox software products?
   You need to purchase a device that converts your computer's USB or PCMCIA port into a serial port.

USB to Serial Adapter.

The Belkin F5U409V1 USB to serial port adapter has been tested and determined to work well with Intoximeters instruments. Intoximeters sells the Belkin F5U409V1 USB to serial port adapter, Intox part #28-0145-00, for $75.

PCMCIA to Serial Port Adapter:

The Quatech "SSP-100" PCMCIA to serial port adapter has been tested and determined to work well with Intoximeter instruments. Intoximeters sells the Quatech SSP-100 PCMCIA serial port adapter, Intox part # 27-9790-00, for $159.

Other USB to serial converters may not work with the AlcoSensor IV. We will update our list of supported converters as more information becomes available.
