Sampling Alternatives
The Alco-Sensor FST  is designed to collect a direct sample from a subject, a passive sample from a subject, or a headspace sample from an open container.

Sample Collection
The Alco-Sensor FST is capable of automatically or manually collecting direct and passive samples.

Mouthpiece
The mouthpiece (patent pending) design offers a low cost, easy to install mouthpiece that directs the breath flow away from the operator. (Use only mouthpieces manufactured or approved by Intoximeters).

THE INSTRUMENT
The Alco-Sensor FST (FST) (patents pending) is a pocket-sized, hand-held breath alcohol tester. It provides a simple, accurate and economical method of determining a subject’s breath alcohol level. The FST accepts breath samples directly or passively.

UNIQUE FEATURES
The Alco-Sensor FST was designed with Operator Safety in mind. The FSTs symmetric design allows the operator to position themselves in a manner where they can control the subject, protect their weapon, easily view both the subject and the instrument display while at the same time preventing the subject’s breath from being blown in their direction. The FST also offers advantages in low light operations such as a backlit LCD and a illuminated mouthpiece guide.

ANALYTICAL

Sensor
This electrochemical fuel cell sensor generates an electronic response that is proportional to the Breath Alcohol Concentration.

Accuracy & Precision
US DOT approved for evidential use. Meets or exceeds the federal model specification for traffic enforcement and Omnibus breath alcohol testing.

Specificity
The fuel cell sensor is specific for alcohol. It does not respond to acetone or other substances found in the human breath.

Range of Sensor
The Alco-Sensor FST accurately detects breath alcohol levels from .000 to .440 BrAC.

Response Time
The FST responds within 5 to 10 seconds on negative or positive samples.

Environmental
Operates over a wide ambient temperature range:  0° - 50° C. (32ºF - 122ºF)

CE Mark
CE Mark compliant for EMC compatibility for emissions and immunity.

Calibration
The linear characteristic of an Intoximeters fuel cell permits simple one-point calibation.  Calibration checks and calibrations should be performed with a dry gas standard or wet bath simulator approved by National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Intoximeters.
