This electrochemical fuel cell
sensor generates an electronic response that is proportional to the
Breath Alcohol Concentration.
Accuracy & Precision
US DOT approved for evidential use. Meets or exceeds the federal
model specification for traffic enforcement and Omnibus breath alcohol
testing.
Specificity
The fuel cell sensor is specific for alcohol. It does not respond to
acetone or other substances found in the human breath.
Range of Sensor
The Alco-Sensor FST accurately detects breath alcohol levels from
.000 to .400 BrAC.
Response Time
The FST responds within 5 to 10 seconds on negative or positive
samples.
Environmental
Operates over a wide ambient temperature range: 0° - 50° C.

Calibration
The linear characteristic of an Intoximeters fuel cell permits simple
one-point calibation. Calibration checks and calibrations should
be performed with a dry
gas standard or wet bath simulator approved by National Highway Traffic
Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Intoximeters.
